The Industrial Robot MultiCraft 560

- the high-technology heart of our fettling system -

The robot distinguishes itself from conventional robots by its mechanical construction. The robot consists of 5 linear actuators and one rotating element, giving the robot six degrees of freedom. The linear actuators are coupled in parallel, as opposed to a conventional robot arm, where they are in series. This unique, patented design provides the following attributes:

  • High rigidity
  • High strength
  • High accuracy

The robot is characterized by the following specifications:

  • Low weight
  • Requires little space
  • Handles up to 75 kg.
  • Repeatability +/- 0,02 mm
  • Very high dynamic accuracy; high precision by varying speed and load.
  • Jogg & logg programming
  • unique CAD/CAM programming
  • Several user friendly auxiliary programs
  • User interface: a standard PC

The robot has been designed on the basis of a few identical standard components. The main parts are:

  • Five linear actuators with DC motor-driven spindles
  • A torsion-proof centre shaft
  • A rotation actuator.

These make up the six axes of the robot. To protect the robot against the hostile environment, it features two bellows, which are pressurized to prevent dust particles from penetrating the moving parts. The operator controls the robot from an IBMcompatible PC.
