V-belt drive protects high sharpening performance by continuous peripheral speed

The machines are equipped alternatively with a three-stage narrow v-belt drive or an infinitely variable broad v-belt drive, in order to be able to obtain despite wear of the grinding wheel with continuous peripheral speed constant  maximum output.

Level impulse (type R)

Special feature of the level impulse is its everlastingness. By markings at the protection hood one displays, with which degree of wear of the grinding wheel the next higher number of revolutions level can be selected by surrounding the drive belts.

An mechanical interlock excludes mistakes with the change of the number of revolutions level.

Cutting velocity (m/sec)
Ginding wheel diameter

Infinitely varaible impulse (type S)

Larger economy distinguishes the infinitely variable broad v-belt drive, which  already worked in the past during average performance demand and which in the meantime also for high performances in the rough foundry operation again one  developed and one laid out particularly strongly.

The disturbance and maintenance-free operating impulse is perfectly dust-protected by sturdy sheet metal a lining of the engine room with broad foam  material span.

The production-effective advantages of this impulse are immense:

  • Manual surrounding of the belts is omitted. The number of revolutions of the sharpening wave is infinitely variable increased over special mechanics by simply placing of the protection hood behind. The beside times (manipulation  times) are thus very small.
  • The cutting velocity remains constant in the admissible maximum of the grinding wheel and is situated around 10% over the average rate of the level impulse (see diagram). Grinding wheel and machine are therefore optimally used.

The technical performance is documented by appropriate patents (run time  1964-1982), which was given for the original conception of infinitely variable speed adjustment.

Electronic number of revolutions monitoring

The actual number of revolutions process as a function of the grinding wheel  diameter can be controlled by installation of an electronic comparison (fig. 4). This additional device corresponds to the rule for the prevention of  accidents number of revolutions monitoring intended with shutdown system,  present by one again in preparation.
